Finally arrived in Dubrovnik after a stinky bus ride,
and loved wandering Old Town.
It was truly a beautiful old walled city,
with an incredible amount of steep (slippery) stairs!
We were only there for about 24 hours,
and didn't get much time to explore because it rained...
and rained... and rained... and rained.
We explored that afternoon
before getting stuck in a great little wine bar (D'Vino) for hours.
It rained so hard that it created waterfalls down the stairs,
and it rushed passed people (up to their mid-calves)!
NUTS.
The following morning, we hoped to walk the walls of the city
for amazing views over the city...
but, nope the rain started again.
And just didn't stop.
We finally jumped on the ferry and headed to Lopud.
Marcus, Lucy, Pete and Jude met us at the boat,
and we headed up to Marcus' uncle's beautiful home.
It was truly stunning...
even featured in an interior design magazine!
Each morning, we had a great breakfast and enjoyed the views.
Lucien also recently renovated the "tower" on Lopud...
it was ridiculously beautiful.
We explored the island, ate great food,
learned a lot about Croatian wines (and drank a lot of Croatian wine)
and relaxed... truly relaxed.
We ate at an amazing restaurant on Sipan called Marcos.
No menu - just a "what they have fresh" sort of meal.
And it was perfection.
We then got picked up by a private speedboat
(directly from our table!!)
to get back to Lopud.
We felt like celebs!
Croatia was a dream.
We explored, relaxed, ate and drank.
And saw FL friends!
Couldn't have asked for anything more.
