NYC // work & fun

A work trip to NYC in the middle of February
meant I would freeze.

Oh my goodness it was cold.
By far the coldest weather I've ever been in
and really would prefer not to be again!!
Guess it's the FL girl in me.
I like cold... a lot.
But, not that cold - it was painful.

During the work trip, I met interesting people,
moved relationships forward and enjoyed perfect views of the city.

But, the most exciting part was I got to see friends!
Jackie welcomed me to the city
and we enjoyed Left Bank's restaurant week menu.
Really delish.

Then... Britt arrived!!
I couldn't have been more happy to find out that she could
join me for a few days in the city.

We froze (I mean explored!), ate/drank, shopped,
talked and laughed... and laughed some more.
What more could we ask for?!

Mermaid Inn was our first stop for happy hour and oysters.
Gosh... I sure do miss happy hour.
Can't London catch on?!

Our few days of food consisted of Han Dynasty, Tiny's, Pompano,
and of course little stops in between for drinks and snacks!

Headed home to see Ian for two hours
before he headed to Argentina for the week.

Loved NYC.
Loved being in the US.

And most importantly, I love that UCL allows me the opportunity
to see my family and friends any time I'm in the US.

Family Fun in FL

A quick stop in FL was just what I needed.

Two of my aunts were in town and a new baby...
just two weeks old!
The timing couldn't have been any better.
It was truly a perfect family-filled weekend.

It was chilly, but still sunny and a heck of a lot warmer
than London... or what would come in NYC.

It's rare that I get lucky enough to have family in town from Cleveland
and even better that we got to celebrate Valentine's Day together
with Champange and my first visit to enRich.

Loved having quality time with my mom,
enjoyed relaxing time with my aunts and sister, and
catching up with UN and Papa.

Ticked all of the boxes in just two days.

The highlight of this visit was meeting Ingrid Jane.
She's precious...beyond precious.

I feel so very lucky that I got to meet this little girl
when she was just 2 weeks old.
And seeing AK so happy, healthy and glowing
was icing on the cake.

Family means the world to me...
and miss them everyday.

sisters.
valentine's day date night.
inrid jane anderson.
Duffy's + Peggi always a must.
so thankful that Z came down with little miss Jules.
chilly but perfect day.
IJA has my heart... and obvs AK does too.
 Missing the FL sunshine already,
but soon we're off to India and Sri Lanka.

Love,
Sarah

Bologna // Anniversary Celebration

Our anniversary celebrations
(three years married... how did that happen!?!)
started with a fab dinner at Sushi Samba!
I've had drinks there, but it was my first time eating.

Delish.
Beautiful presentation and beautiful view.

We got through the week and started our weekend
adventure in Bologna.

After delays because of snow...
we finally made it to cold and snowy Italy.

We stayed at this fab Airbnb place.
(If you've never used Airbnb, I'd highly recommend it.)
It was close to shops, sights and restaurants.
Perfect location for a weekend of exploring.

We ate lots of pasta, drank lots of wine (duh!),
and walked the small city as much as possible.
It was cold... really cold, which made it a bit tough to wander.

One of our favourite meals was from a
teeny little pasta "shop", Pasta Fresca Naldi.
It looked like three generations of women making the pasta.
Pumpkin ravioli - amazing!

We also found a great wine bar, Enoteca Italiana,
and fun and quirky restaurant that does modern twist on Italian,
E'cucina Leopardi.

Really enjoyed wandering the city, relaxing and eating/drinking.
I guess that's the purpose of a holiday though!

Pictures aren't great on this trip, but it was just too cold
to keep our camera in our hands!
