goodwood festival of speed

The perks of Ian’s job are pretty amazing
and this was just another one of those times we are thankful for
the luxury portfolio that he works his tush off for!

Goodwood Festival of Speed is the largest motoring "garden party" in the world.
It's a unique weekend that brings together a brilliant mix of cars,
celebs and motor sport ‘royalty’ to create the largest car culture event in the world.

The Ferarri VIP tent had Veuve Cliquot flowing while serving breakfast,
a coursed lunch and they even hosted a late-afternoon tea.

It was directly located on the track for a front row view of the annual Hillclimb.

Formula 1 to Nascar to coal-powered cars from the 1900s
were scattered throughout the fest.

Truly enjoyed the day of sunshine and cars thanks to Vueve Cliquot.

queen's coronation gala

Through MHUK, Ian received two tix to the Queen’s Coronation Gala.
Hosted at Buckingham Palace Gardens to celebrate
the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

To be able to see the “outside world” from behind the gates of
the Palace was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“Royal Warrant” vendors were set up all over the grounds,
which were absolutely amazing – flowers and pathways and little ponds
and the Palace in the background.

Truly makes you forget you are in the centre of London
when behind the gates/walls.

Performances throughout the night were from UK artists including
orchestra, theatre and ballet.

My favourite was the English National Ballet and
Ian’s was Eric Whitacre's 'virtual choir' which sang alongside a live choir.

The overall experience of drinking Moet in the Queen’s garden
and watching amazing artists is something we will never forget.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures of the queen's backyard!

olympic park music fest

Just after we settled into life in London, we bought tix to an
awesome music fest in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Two draws –
seeing Olympic Park and all of the crazy building that went on there
AND
an amazing line-up!

Bear's Den
Haim
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes
Ben Howard
Vampire Weekend
Mumford & Sons

Olympic Park was a perfect venue with AstroTurf,
which no one would think is awesome but
it is – everything stays clean and dry!

The bands were amazing live and the crowd went wild
for their UK-born Mumford & Sons!

Had the best time drinking beer and enjoying the sunshine
while listening to some of our favorites.

 such a blast.

1st birthday in London

Had such a special and wonderful and random birthday.

Started our morning at Brill for a bagel and cappuccino.
Then a random trip to Broadway Market.
Lounging in the park and in our garden came next.

My really special day ended with one of the best (if not the best) meal I've ever had.

Kai Mayfair
Michelin Star rated "modern" Chinese food.
Incredible food (wasabi prawns, chilean seabass and much more...)
and insane champagne (dom p and ruinart).

Then walked through Mayfair and dropped into Novikov for a drink.
And a last minute stop at Experimental Cocktail Club in China Town.

And a Sunday visit to Brick Lane and lounging in the garden.
(brick lane - not my favorite market!)

My one birthday wish was granted - warmth and sunshine
and it looks like it came true!
Summer has arrived!!!

It truly was a birthday to remember and it's all thanks to Ian.
Love you to the moon.
