food as of late

Whoever said London has sh*t food, either hasn’t been here in the past decade,

or just simply doesn’t know what they are talking about.

Trendy Exmouth Market, which is only 1 block away from us, has great food choices.

Food stalls set up during the week.

(Mexican to Indian to Spanish to Ghanaian).

Ghanaian food was amazing!

Kuku Paka (chicken-coconut curry) and Ghana Meatball Stew = awesome.

Here are two of our favourite restaurants in our neighbourhood (so far).

Moro

Little Bay

Moro is a “hip” restaurant.

Middle East meets Spain and everything is made with the freshest of ingredients.

Rustic, but trendy approach to its food and food presentation.

Wine selection was fab and so far, it’s been our best meal yet.

Moro opened Morito directly next door.

Mezze and tapas bar and we can’t wait to try it out.

Little Bay has stolen our hearts. It’s a charming,
dark little restaurant with a French twist.

Price-point is very affordable – for London standards.

Can’t beat the friendly service and the occasional opera singer.

Tidbit of London restaurant info:

It’s the home of 46 one-Michelin starred restaurants,
7 two-starred, 2 three-starred.

We are also loving the idea of exploring pubs in and around our area
and here are some pictures from our faves.

ucl main campus

Beautiful days have finally come our way.
Blue skies, warm sun and cool air.

UCL is a beautiful place to wander when it’s warm(er) and sunny.

wandering around...

When we first moved here,
we thought we needed to do all of the sightseeing right away.

WRONG

We need to take our time.
Visitors will come and we will be seeing these sights over and over.

But because it's London, we couldn't help ourselves -
we had to see all of the major sights.

And when the weather warms up a bit, I'm sure we'll see others.
London is too pretty with too much history to wait to see it all!

London Eye

Buckingham Palace

Primrose Hill
(this does overlook the city of london, but it was a bit hazy this day)

 Westminster Abbey

 Big Ben

It's still very surreal to think we actually LIVE here - not just visiting.
We can't wait to have visitors so book a flight and come enjoy all of this with us!

ps. it was FREEZING these days.
it's taking some time for these FL folks to get used to the weather.

should be 18-20c on sunday - crossing our fingers for some warm weather and sunshine!

easter in cambridge

We had a wonderful Easter in Cambridge with Ian's family!
They have a great home not too far from the beautiful colleges.

Ian's cousin, Marcus, gave us the history as we wandered
the streets and visited the colleges.

Tristan (Ian's uncle) is a local architect and is responsible for quite a few landmarks!
Couldn't snap many good pictures, but will when we go back this summer.

(Hoping for better weather - it's April and still snowing.)

Tristan is from a family FULL of artists and their home shows it.
Beautiful artwork everywhere you look!

Also enjoyed an Easter egg hunt with the kiddos and a delish
lunch before heading back to London.
